Health Care Professionals

Our service area encompasses over 100 census tracts, most all of which are designated as Medically Under-Served Areas (MUAs or MUPs). All of our locations are designated as Health Profession Shortage Areas (HPSAs). Clinica Sierra Vista's health centers are located in Arvin, Bakersfield, Delano, Frazier Park, Fresno, Lake Isabella, Lamont, McFarland, Shoshone, Wofford Heights.

Clinica Sierra Vista works closely with the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) and the J-1 Visa Waiver Program to fill vacancies throughout our service area. The National Health Service Corps is committed to helping underserved communities recruit primary care clinicians to serve communities like ours. Our service area qualifies for NHSC loan repayment and NHSC Scholars.

Primary Care Physicians

Primary Care Physicians provide medical services to the patients of Clinica Sierra Vista. Our physicians adhere to the highest standards of medical ethics at all times. Physicians must possess a license to practice in the State of California, professional clinical experience in physician's specialty. Board certification is highly desirable.

Family Nurse Practitioners & Physician's Assistants

Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) and Physician's Assistants (PA) conduct patient evaluations and physical examinations. FNP and PA's present conclusions to physicians, confirm patient problems and participate in the performance of the necessary diagnostic maneuvers. FNP's and PA's Must be a graduate of an accredited FNP or PA program, possess national certification in primary care specialty and practical experience of at least two years in primary care.

Public Health Nurses & Registered Nurses

Nurses are essential members of the health care team, both as assistants to the doctors and as a provider of unique medical and counseling services. Nurses must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, possess a California license and two years of nursing experience, preferable in an outpatient setting.

Psychiatrists

Psychiatrists provide all aspects of behavioral health, including medication evaluation, brief therapy support, counseling and psychiatric evaluation. Psychiatrists must be a graduate of an accredited school of psychology and possess a license to practice in California.

Dentists

Dentists are responsible for the delivery of quality dental services in the context of our integrated medical-dental ambulatory care setting. Dentists must be a graduate of an accredited dental school, possess license to practice in California and three years of dental experience.

Nutritionists

Nutritionists provide nutrition intervention to WIC program participants to reduce the risks associated with nutritional deficiencies. Registered Dietitian staff duties may include provision of Medical Nutrition Therapy to our clinic patients. Nutritionists must have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nutrition; Registered Dietitian (RD) credentials are preferred. Dietetic Internship opportunities available.
