Health Insurance Assistance Program (HIAP)

Health Insurance Assistance Program (HIAP) is an intensive outreach program that helps families, who do not have health insurance for their children, obtain health insurance for their children. The program provides families with education and assistance with the application process. The program has Medi-Cal outreach workers stationed throughout all of our health centers. HIAP works closely with the local Department of Human Services, to facilitate easy access to Medi-Cal or Healthy Families Insurance. The goal of the program is to decrease the rate of uninsured children in California. HIAP also assists families in applying for food stamps and Healthy Kids, which is a local, Prop 10 funded program for uninsured children.
