Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP)
AFLP provides comprehensive case management services and a youth development curriculum to expectant and parenting teens and their children. Case managers work closely with youth to improve the health and well-being of themselves and their children. This approach aims to develop their resilience by strengthening their developmental assets. Youth are provided with ongoing support and opportunities to develop the resilience and skills that will help them thrive during and after they exit the program.
AFLP is a voluntary program that is targeted towards expectant/parenting teens 19 and under, and once enrolled, teens may remain in the program until the age of 20. We service Bakersfield, Arvin, Lamont, McFarland, and Delano.
OUR GOAL: To reduce repeat adolescent births, increase educational and vocational advancement, improve parent and child health, and create networks of support for expectant and parenting youth.
