A graduate of the University of Benin College of Medical Sciences in 1995, Dr. Sunday Irene has been providing primary care to the underserved community in Bakersfield since 2007. He is an adjunct faculty at the Rio Bravo Family Medicine Residency Program. He was the Chief Medical Officer at Clinica Sierra Vista between 2014 and 2018. He continues to practice at the East Bakersfield Community Health Center, Bakersfield, California.
