Family Medicine Residency Program

The Rio Bravo Family Medicine Residency Program (RBFMRP) is a three-year postgraduate training program consisting of six residency positions per year (PGY-1, PGY-2, and PGY-3). The RBFMRP is sponsored and housed within Clinica Sierra Vista at a Federally Qualified Health Center (East Niles Community Health Center, a Teaching Health Center ) in Kern County, and has an academic affiliation with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Clinica Sierra Vista is the Institutional Sponsor of the Rio Bravo Family Medicine Residency Program. It has been an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency Program since 2014.

The goal of the RBFMRP is to support the recruitment, training, and retention of Family Medicine physicians that are dedicated to serving the underserved in California’s central San Joaquin Valley.
