Sherry Shang, OD

About Sherry

Dr. Shang completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry. She then completed a Cornea and Contact Lens residency at the Southern California College of Optometry, specializing in the comprehensive management of conditions such as keratoconus, post-surgical corneas, pellucid marginal degeneration, and dry eyes using scleral contact lenses, corneal gas-permeable contact lenses, and custom soft contact lenses.

Dr. Shang is also passionate about myopia management, employing orthokeratology and other approaches to slow down the progression of nearsightedness in children. Beyond her clinical practice, she has presented lectures to fellow optometric colleagues, precepted student clinicians, and presented posters at major optometric conferences. Dr. Shang is committed to enhancing access to high quality eye care in the Bakersfield community.
