Clinica Sierra Vista Temporary Closure of Kern River Valley Location due to French Fire

Clinica Sierra Vista has temporarily closed our location in the Kern River Valley at 67 Evans Rd in Wofford Heights until further notice due to concerns related to the French Fire burning in the area.

According to Kern County fire The French Fire burning in the Kern River Valley is now covering more than 4,200 acres.

California Incident Management team officials provided an update Friday morning saying the blaze has grown to 4,272 acres and is just five percent contained. Two homes have been destroyed, along with another 15 outbuildings. Fire officials say the blaze is threatening 300 homes in the area, including Clinica Sierra Vista's medical office building on Evans Road.

Patients have been rescheduled due to the closure of our medical office building, and in some cases Telehealth visits have been scheduled through our providers at our locations to accommodate urgent medical questions. 

"This is a rapidly evolving situation and we are monitoring the latest updates as we work to protect our patients and staff," said Stacy Ferreira, Clinica Sierra Vista Chief Executive Officer. "This is a scary situation for our patients and families living in Wofford Heights, we are actively working to get the latest information to our patients to ensure their safety."

Patients are encouraged to contact (760) 376-2276 with any questions about existing appointments. This location is expected to be closed through Tuesday, August 24th. Please know we are receiving a high volume of calls due to this ongoing situation.
