On November 2nd, CDC Director Rochelle P. Walensky, M.D., M.P.H., endorsed the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine. CDC recently expanded vaccine recommendations to about 28 million children in the United States in this age group and allows providers to begin vaccinating them as soon as possible.
Possible Side effects of the COVID-19 Vaccine
COVID-19 vaccination will help protect you from getting COVID-19. You may have some side effects or immune responses, which are normal signs that your body is building protection. These immune responses may affect your ability to do daily activities, but they should go away in a few days.
Common side effects are:
- Pain and swelling near the injection site
- Fever
- Chills
- Tiredness
- Headache
About the mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines
